Rag Rugs!

Create your own beautiful rag rug while giving new life to recycled materials in this relaxed and creative workshop at The Emporium.

Using an upcycled rug base and a colourful selection of recycled fabrics and yarns, you will learn the traditional techniques used to create rag rugs. We will guide you through how to prepare fabric strips, how to hook or knot them through the base, and how to build texture and pattern as your rug begins to grow.

This is a wonderfully mindful and satisfying craft that transforms leftover textiles into something practical and full of character. Each rug will be completely unique depending on the fabrics and colours you choose.

You will begin your rag rug during the workshop and leave with the skills and confidence to continue working on it at home.
