Cold-Process Soap Loaf Making (18+)

Discover the traditional art of cold process soap making and create your own beautiful batch of handmade soap from scratch.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how natural oils and butters are transformed into soap through the process of saponification, as we cover the ingredients, equipment, safety and basic science behind making your own soap.

You’ll weigh and blend your ingredients, choose your own scent, colour and finishing touches, and learn techniques for creating a beautifully decorated soap loaf.

We’ll also cover curing, storing and using your finished soaps, along with plenty of tips to give you the confidence to continue experimenting with soap making at home.

Once made, your soap will stay with me for six weeks to fully cure. Your finished soaps will be available to collect from 26th November.

All materials are provided and no previous experience is necessary.

Important Safety Information

This workshop is strictly 18+ due to the use of sodium hydroxide (lye), which is an essential part of traditional cold process soap making.

For your safety, please:

• Tie long hair securely back
• Wear long sleeves and clothing that fully covers your skin
• Avoid loose or flowing clothing

Safety goggles, protective gloves and aprons will be provided and must be worn when instructed during the workshop.
